About The Role
Job Description
The Energy Unit, specifically the Transmission & Distribution division are recruiting a Senior Power Systems Engineer to be part of an integral team delivering large projects across the world. We aim to provide our employees the opportunities to work on some of the most exciting projects and will support this with the required training and mentoring by experts residing in our UK and global offices.

You will be involved in projects which will include the following roles:
Power System Analysis – load flow, short circuit, dynamic & transient stability, harmonic analysis, protection, arc flash evaluation
Power System modelling - conversant with IPSA, ETAP, DigSilent and PTW; PSS/E v3x & higher and PSCAD knowledge will be useful but not critical
Visiting projects sites and power plants to collect data, sometimes via measurements
Analysing and interpreting simulation and test data using industry standard tools
Report preparation and presentation to clients
Having an appreciation of the roles of fellow professionals on other projects and interfacing and coordinating with them appropriately
Interfacing with clients, suppliers and contractors
Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of technical engineering codes and practices and taking a hands on role in technical matters both at project level

Candidate Specification
About You
Electrical engineering degree (minimum BSc/BEng; MSc/MEng or PhD in power systems will be an advantage).
Proficiency in IPSA, ETAP, DigSilent, PTW and other power simulation software
Team player and willingness to follow instructions
Commercial awareness and ability to develop business through existing and new workstreams
High level of IT literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to be adaptable and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage small project teams delivering projects within time and budget
Ability to produce clear and logical written communication
Have a systematic logical approach to problem solving
Pay strong attention to detail and demonstrate accurate work
Flexible approach to work, and ability to prioritise and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and client needs
Highly motivated to learn on the job, interface with clients, as well as undertake training
Willingness to travel internationally from time to time

About The Role
Our Energy Unit are recruiting an Energy Storage Engineer be part of an integral team delivering large projects across the world. The role will involve working on integrated energy systems projects within Mott MacDonald. These projects include energy storage, electric vehicle integration, micro grids, smart networks, hybrid energy solutions, demand side response, micro-generation, grid edge technology, and innovation. The role will be based within Mott MacDonald’s Energy Unit but will require working with specialists in Mott MacDonald`s transport and built environment sectors.
This role can be based in the UK or in Europe (Belgrade, Sofia, Madrid or Genova Office).

Main Duties
Electrical design (preparation of design reports and drawings)
Project management of engineering projects
Supervision and mentoring of junior staff
Acting as lead interface with clients
Preparation of technical and advisory reports.

About you
Strong engineering background (with a specialism in Power or Electrical Engineering) with 5+ years post graduate experience
Strong working knowledge of energy storage systems or related specialism such as distribution network design/renewable network design
Excellent report writing and communication skills

Sharp analytical skills and the ability to present quantitative knowledge to non-experts
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Preparedness to travel worldwide on short business assignments
Excellent working ability of MS Office, knowledge in other economic/statistical packages welcome.

Previous experience in electrical infrastructure projects as Owner’s Engineer, Lender`s Engineer or similar role
Previous experience in the “integrated energy systems” sector such as demand side response, hydrogen or renewables
Techno-economic modelling skills
Appreciation of project risk and mitigation
Appreciation of commercial sphere of project work including contract terms
Project Management experience
Proposal experience.

About The Role
Our Transmission & Distribution Division is recruiting an Electrical T&D Engineer to be part of an integral team delivering large projects across the world. Working alongside our main project team you will join our specialist group involved in electrical engineering work for the energy sector specialising in electrical transmission and distribution. Our clients are located in the UK and internationally and you will be a hands-on consultant dealing directly with clients at all levels. The role will involve working on the examination and assessment of technical, economic, and commercial aspects of various types of energy networks projects.

Main Duties
Provide technical electrical engineering inputs on a range of feasibility, concept, techno-commercial study projects including transmission grid connections and distribution companies
Undertake (mainly desktop) reviews of electrical assets, businesses and operating processes
Review the commercial and risk elements of projects from an engineering perspective
Preparation of technical reports.
In addition, the role would involve managing project work and project teams, retaining and developing relationships with clients, and potentially developing new business opportunities.

Our Energy unit are currently recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer to join us. You’ll provide technical and professional expertise as part of an enthusiastic project Electrical Engineering team. As part of this role, you`d be expected to:
Undertake and manage the day to day operations in respect of the following key areas
Electrical Engineering with experience in the Gas/Petrochemical Industry
Producing Engineering reports, drawings and calculations

Candidate Specification
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and qualifications:
An Electrical Engineering honours degree
Chartered Membership of a professional institution.
Knowledge and understanding of and international design codes, standards and specifications, in particular BS 7671
Demonstrable experience in the Gas/Petrochemical Industry with knowledge of Hazardous Area Protection Concepts and Industrial design and protection of LV Systems. Some HV design experience would be beneficial but not essential.
Fluent written and verbal English.
Competent with MS Office suite programs.
Ability to use Amtech electrical design software (desirable not essential)
Ability to work on own initiative on technical matters and manage their own time and that of others
Have the willingness to learn and develop
