Principal Electrical Engineer

As a principal electrical engineer in the hydropower team your job will be varied and include technical work, project management and project direction. You will have responsibility for both technical and commercial delivery. You will lead and work across a number of projects, providing support to the team and taking responsibility for your assigned work. In addition to project work, you will also support the team in preparation of proposals to help win new work.

The job will be primarily focused on hydropower, however as part of the wider energy business there will be opportunities to work in other generation technologies from time to time.

You will be part of the hydropower team and report to the hydropower resourcing manager/E&M Team Leader.

Qualifications

The candidate will have sufficient relevant professional experience, with the following qualifications and capabilities

We are seeking a candidate that is proactive, will take responsibility for the tasks assigned and is interested in developing professionally.

Masters degree in electrical engineering;
Chartered or equivalent professional qualification;
Experience of project management and direction;
Extensive practical technical experience gained through working on projects with a consultant, developer, owner or contractor.
Fully fluent and able to communicate in clear English, both spoken and written; and
Further language skills are desirable (particularly fluency in French and/or Spanish).

Experience of working in consultancy and project management qualifications would be considered favourably but are not essential.
