13.8.2014 - Grid Software - Protection & Control Engineer Grid Software is a team of experienced Substation Automation & Communication experts, systems and software engineering professionals committed to providing highest quality standards in consultancy and development of solutions for Smart Grid system providers with offices in Calgary and Belgrade. Grid Software Engineering department is looking for a highly experienced Protection & Control Engineer who will join our project team currently collocated in Canada As a part of the project team, the successful candidate will interact with other project team members and stakeholders both internal and external. This position reports to the Project Engineering lead. The focus of this role is on implementation, testing, and commissioning of Protection and Control applications and schemes. Key Responsibilities Design, development, implementation, testing, and commissioning of Protection and Control applications and schemes Proven record working with Protection Systems based on GE Multilin products UR and UR+ Family: Busbar, Transformer, Generator, Line/Distance, Differential, Breaker Fail protection (single bus, double bus, double + transfer bus, ring bus, breaker and half schemes) Proven record working with Protection Systems based on ABB 670 Family products: REB670 Busbar, RET670 Transformer, RED670 Distance, REC670 Controller In depth understanding of the IEC 61850 standards: object modeling, Multicast Publisher/Subscriber (GOOSE/SMV) and Client Server (MMS) communication models Able to engineer GOOSE Publisher/Subscriber relationship using System Configuration tools (IET600, Enervista Engineer or similar) Experienced using Test Tools Omicron or Megger/Freja Able to read and analyze detailed Electrical Schematic Drawings Able to realize network topologies and architecture drawings Able to independently perform FAT/SAT and other commissioning activities Experience and Skills University Degree in Electrical Engineering 5+ years of related experience Professional designations: Professional Engineer Certifications: Commissioning and/or similar authorization Certificates Special Training & Courses: Protective Relays, Protection or Control courses, IEC 61850 Network Courses: HSR/PRP, Switching/Routing Strong Interpersonal skills, self-motivated, analytical thinker, team player with a commitment to service quality The ability to deliver to tight deadlines while managing internal stakeholder expectations Work ethics that corresponds to Grid Software core values Integrity/Team-work/Accountability Essential Requirements Successful candidate will be required to collocate to the Project site in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the period of three years Excellent English verbal and writing skills For consideration please submit your Resume and Cover Letter by email, no later than 4:30 p.m. 13.08.2014.
