ITER tokamak core: two-thirds installed Aug 7, 2026 - Since April 2025, ITER assembly teams have been progressively installing the sector modules that form the heart of the tokamak. Each module combines some of the largest and most complex components ever manufactured for a fusion machine and must be positioned with millimetre precision. On 27–28 July 2026, the sixth sector module was lifted out of assembly tooling, transferred into the tokamak pit, and installed opposite the five modules already in place—bringing the machine`s plasma chamber to the two-thirds mark. This video takes you through the operation step by step. For a closer look at how the lift is monitored in real time, read the accompanying article Povezane vesti Aug 22, 2026 Japan bets ¥3.1 trillion on nuclear fusion Aug 8, 2026 China Aims to Launch Combustion Trials in 2027 to Push for Industrializing "Artificial Sun" Aug 7, 2026 ITER tokamak core: two-thirds installed Jul 22, 2026 This Country is Dominating The Nuclear Power Race Jul 21, 2026 The Nuclear Comeback: What Will It Take To Power It?
