Qinghai`s Clean Energy Boosts Green Development Feb 5, 2026 - Lying on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, Qinghai is rich in water, solar and wind resources. In 2016, during a visit to the province, President Xi Jinping called for establishing it as a green energy production base. By the end of 2020, the Qinghai-Henan UHV DC transmission line was supplying power to central parts of China, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Qinghai`s successful exploitation of its clean energy resources, by simultaneously promoting ecological protection and high-quality development, is being hailed as an example for the world to follow.
