Jul 5, 2026 - World`s LARGEST fusion magnet!

China’s "Artificial Sun" project has just hit a massive engineering milestone, marking a historic leap forward in the global race for commercial nuclear fusion energy! The Institute of Plasma Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences has officially announced the successful completion of development acceptance and full-parameter testing for two key superconducting magnet systems: the Toroidal Field (TF) magnet and the High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) Central Solenoid coil. This breakthrough represents six years of intensive, cutting-edge research. Most importantly, the entire magnet system chain has achieved 100% independent domestic production, breaking free from external technological dependencies and proving China`s world-leading capabilities in advanced manufacturing. The newly unveiled fusion reactor TF superconducting magnet is an absolute engineering beast, measuring 21 meters long, 12 meters wide, and 3.3 meters high, with a total weight of 582 tons.
