20.11.2024 - Mott MacDonald Beograd - Principal Power System Engineer, Electrical Engineer Mott MacDonald Beograd Principal Power System Engineer You will be involved in projects which will include the following roles: Power System Analysis – load flow, short circuit, dynamic & transient stability, harmonic analysis, protection, arc flash evaluation, electromagnetic transient analysis Power System modelling - conversant with IPSA, ETAP, DigSilent, PTW, PSS/E v3x & higher and PSCAD Visiting projects sites and power plants to collect data, sometimes via measurements Analysing and interpreting simulation and test data using industry standard tools Report preparation and presentation to clients Having an appreciation of the roles of fellow professionals on other projects and interfacing and coordinating with them appropriately Interfacing with clients, suppliers and contractors Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of technical engineering codes and practices and taking a hands on role in technical matters both at project level Candidate Specification Electrical engineering degree (minimum BSc/BEng; MSc/MEng or PhD in power systems will be an advantage). Proficiency in PSCAD, ETAP, DigSilent, PTW and other power simulation software Team player and willingness to follow instructions Commercial awareness and ability to develop business through existing and new workstreams High level of IT literacy and numeracy skills Ability to be adaptable and able to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to manage small project teams delivering projects within time and budget Ability to produce clear and logical written communication Have a systematic logical approach to problem solving Pay strong attention to detail and demonstrate accurate work Flexible approach to work, and ability to prioritise and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and client needs Highly motivated to learn on the job, interface with clients, as well as undertake training Willingness to travel internationally from time to time  Electrical Engineer Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide technical solutions and project leadership in the production of electrical designs for major electrical and multi-disciplinary infrastructure works. You will be expected to become familiar with the company procedures and provide technical expertise and contributions to bids and proposals in addition to project planning, project delivery and execution to a high standard. You will manage engineering projects and deliverables ensuring they meet the client`s expectations and applicable statutory and regulatory specification, on time and within budget. You will also support and contribute to the development of junior staff and graduates Typical Activities Include Taking part in site surveys Ensure project deliverables and scope are clear Understand procurement and contract awards such as NEC PSC LV and MV network configuration and advice on resilience issues. Input into the network configuration and understanding of operations scenarios and impacts. LV and MV (up to 33kV) network design. LV and MV cable sizing, routing and termination. LV and MV substation design layouts. LV and MV substation main equipment operations and specifications. Understanding and interpretation of client standards and DNO regulations and standards. Earthing designs including understanding of design, modelling and calculations for step, touch and transfer potential. Protection requirements Arc flash requirement Review of design submissions within the team against client scope. Candidate Specification Working as part of a Team and reporting to the Project Principal or Principal Engineer, we are ideally looking for candidates who are Chartered, along with: Professionally qualified in a relevant engineering discipline Proven skills, capabilities and experience in the sector areas mentioned above Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as the role will require preparation of specifications and reports. Co-ordinate with multi disciplines both internal and external. Demonstrable experience within electrical project engineering, with focus on installations from LV up to 11kV / 33kV. Be able to travel ioverseas if required, Be competent in the use of MS packages. Be aware of procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
