05.08.2023 - Schneider Electric NS,BG - Smart Grid Engineer, Power Systems Application Design Senior Engineer, Associate GIS Consultant Schneider Electric Hub Location: Novi Sad or Belgrade Smart Grid Engineer Key responsibilities: Works as professional services consultant to provide guidance and expertise to our customers Technical role in the Support organization Participates in ADMS system update process as a technical lead Reviews available technical project documentation in the project handover process to support phase Responds quickly and professionally to defects or technical questions reported by customers Accountable for software enhancements design requested by customers Fixes issues on production systems Develops and maintains positive relationships with colleagues, regional solution centers and customers The ideal candidate for this position should have the following key skills/experience: University education in Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field Knowledge about electrical power engineering - distribution and transmission grids, grid operations, utilities Experience in working at/with electric distribution utilities is considered a plus Experience with working with complex software solutions or experience in software testing is desirable Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Fluent in written and spoken English Excellent communication skills with the ability to analyze and explain technical issues to lay audiences Team player with experience in cross-team collaboration to ensure successful delivery of solutions Teamwork, collaboration, and organizational skills Passion for learning and continuous improvement  Power Systems Application Design Senior Engineer (hybrid work) The Power system Application Design Senior Engineer is a permanent role linked to the Schneider Electric Regional Execution Platform (REP) Bratislava. He/She is responsible for power system calculations and studies within his/ her organization and its assigned customer project. He/She makes design calculations in the Electrical Distribution (ED) application field, based on pre-defined technical specifications. He/She learns and applies applicable standards, tools, procedures, and best practices in this area. Further, reports on commercial and technical argumentation, provides technical instructions/assistance to other team members and colleagues. The ED calculations and studies being performed under her/his leadership are as minimum the following: Short-circuit current calculations and rating definition (for equipment) LV protection discrimination studies MV protection setting studies Cable ampacity calculation and cable sizing P/Q calculations and basic load flows-inrush current of transformers Harmonics calculation and sizing of harmonic filters Circuit-breaker and fuse sizing Auxiliary battery supply calculations CT/VT calculation for measure and protection function for SE and competitor’s IED PLACE OF WORK: Sites and the following locations: Slovakia: our offices in Bratislava, Žilina and Košice Work from home Other countries: Romania - Serbia - Slovenia - Bulgaria - Croatia - Hungary international travel (max 30%), mostly within Europe , optional: long term stays abroad (6-12 months) Associate GIS Consultant What will you do: Support the implementation and delivery of high-value technical solutions to our clients in the Utilities industry. Work with project teams to define the best technical approach to meet client business requirements using one or more Schneider Electric offerings. Support proposed client solutions based on defined requirements. Prepare documentation for design, functional, and interface specifications. Perform configuration, test planning, and test execution on one or more concurrent projects. Support workshops and other client-facing activities. Cultivate strong client relationships and become a trusted advisor. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or computer science (or related technical field of study). 2-5 years of related experience in Information Technology industry. Experience working with electric, gas, water, or telecom/fiber domains. Knowledge of System Integrations (OMS, WMS, CIS, SCADA, DMS, AMI, or EAM preferred), Documentation, Testing & Installation of technical solutions. Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL preferred. Be self-motivated, flexible, able to learn innovative technologies and processes, and have excellent problem-solving skills. Experience with claud tehcnologies (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services…) is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Strong Microsoft application skills. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to travel to the client site up to 25% of the time. |
