15.06.2023 - Mott MacDonald Beograd - Senior Power Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineer - Offshore Substation Design Mott MacDonald Beograd Senior Power Systems Engineer Work pattern Full time Position Location Belgrade, Serbia Job Description The Energy Unit, specifically the Transmission & Distribution division are recruiting a Senior Power Systems Engineer to be part of an integral team delivering large projects across the world. We aim to provide our employees the opportunities to work on some of the most exciting projects and will support this with the required training and mentoring by experts residing in our global offices. You will be involved in projects which will include the following roles: Power System Analysis – load flow, short circuit, dynamic & transient stability, harmonic analysis, protection, arc flash evaluation Power System modelling - conversant with IPSA, ETAP, DigSilent and PTW; PSS/E v3x & higher and PSCAD knowledge will be useful but not critical Visiting projects sites and power plants to collect data, sometimes via measurements Analysing and interpreting simulation and test data using industry standard tools Report preparation and presentation to clients Having an appreciation of the roles of fellow professionals on other projects and interfacing and coordinating with them appropriately Interfacing with clients, suppliers and contractors Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of technical engineering codes and practices and taking a hands on role in technical matters both at project level Candidate Specification Electrical engineering degree (minimum BSc/BEng; MSc/MEng or PhD in power systems will be an advantage). Working alongside our main project team you will join our specialist group involved in electrical engineering work for the energy sector specialising in electrical transmission and distribution. Our clients are in the UK and internationally and you will be a hands-on consultant dealing directly with clients at all levels. The role will involve working on the examination and assessment of technical, economic, and commercial aspects of various types of energy networks projects. Responsibilities Will Include Provide technical electrical engineering inputs on a range of feasibility, concept, techno-commercial study projects for offshore substations Manage the technical interfaces for the offshore substations Undertake reviews of electrical assets, businesses, and operating processes Review the commercial and risk elements of projects from an engineering perspective Preparation of technical reports. Candidate Specification We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate the below: Proven experience with the design and construction of offshore substations Electrical engineering background or equivalent (BSc degree or higher) Broad technical knowledge of all relevant electrical sub-systems Relevant and proven project management experience in the offshore sector with large projects Strong people skills to steer a team into successful project completion Proven experience with systems engineering principles, procedures and tools Enthusiastic, good communication skills, high work ethic and team player If you meet 80% or more of what we’re looking for, please still apply.
