Medior Power Systems Software Developer/Engineer , Junior Power Systems Software Developer/Engineer 28.01.2026 - RTEi South-East Europe Beograd RTEi South-East Europe Beograd, Kondina 13 Medior Power Systems Software Developer/Engineer (Java/Python) Purpose of the Role Delivers with autonomy; owns functional modules and bridges power system engineering and software design. The role is designed for early-career engineers with solid fundamentals in power systems and strong motivation to develop industrial-grade software skills. 3. Main Responsibilities 3.1. Power System Modelling Support Implement basic power system models: Buses, lines, transformers, generators, loads Electrical parameters and constraints Support implementation of algorithms for: Load-flow Short-circuit (basic use cases) Simple contingency handling Validate results against reference cases. 3.2. Software Development Develops autonomously. Designs APIs and modular components. Writes unit, integration and non-regression tests. Active contributor and reviewer in code reviews. 3.3. Integration & Tooling Defines and maintains IO contracts. Integrates modules into larger platforms. Contributes to performance optimisation and architectural choices. Use Git workflows (branching, pull requests). Participate in code reviews. 3.4. Learning & R&D Exposure Learn internal frameworks (PowSyBl ecosystem, internal tools). Participate in R&D or prototyping tasks. Gradually build autonomy on a limited functional scope. 4. Key Skills Technical Strong fundamentals in power systems engineering: Load-flow Short-circuit calculations Network modelling Solid experience in Java and/or Python. Good understanding of: Software architecture principles Testing strategies Numerical stability and performance Comfortable with Linux, Git, CI pipelines. Organizational & Interpersonal Autonomous and reliable. Able to challenge specifications constructively. Clear technical communication. 5. Profile 2–5 years experience in: Power system software Engineering tools Scientific or numerical software development Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Computer Science or equivalent. Experience with PowSyBl, Antares or similar tools is a strong plus. Professional English required. Based in Serbia (SEE). 6. KPIs Functional ownership of assigned modules. Quality and robustness of delivered software. Test coverage and non-regression stability. Contribution to technical decisions. Mentoring feedback from juniors. 7. The role is designed for early-career engineers with solid fundamentals in power systems and strong motivation to develop industrial-grade software skills. 3. Main Responsibilities 3.1. Power System Modelling Support Implement basic power system models: Buses, lines, transformers, generators, loads Electrical parameters and constraints Support implementation of algorithms for: Load-flow Short-circuit (basic use cases) Simple contingency handling Validate results against reference cases. 3.2. Good communication with senior engineers. 5. Profile 0–2 years experience (or final-year student / graduate). Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Applied Mathematics or equivalent. First exposure to power system tools or simulation software is a plus. Professional English required. Based in Serbia (SEE). 6. KPIs Code quality on assigned tasks.
