The successful candidate will support clients with developing their integrated energy systems projects across the world. This includes energy/battery storage (grid scale), decarbonisation of energy (hybrid systems), green hydrogen, demand side (large energy users), electric vehicle integration, microgrids/smart grids. The role will be based within Mott MacDonald`s Energy unit and will involve working with specialists in Mott MacDonald`s renewables, transport and built environment practices. The role will be based in the UK or in Europe (Belgrade, Sofia, Madrid) and will initially require a significant amount of time to be spent in the UK to embed with our specialist teams. Main Duties Electrical design (preparation of concept design reports and drawings for MV/HV systems). Managing the delivery of projects, ensuring adherence to our quality assurance system. Candidate Specification The successful applicant will have the following attributes: Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, with at least 5 years’ post graduate experience in the industry. Excellent report writing and communication skills (English). Sharp analytical skills and the ability to present quantitative knowledge to non-experts. Self-motivated and diligent, with ability to meet tight deadlines on simultaneous assignments. Attentive to detail, a dynamic listener, with a strong aptitude for the wider picture. Working alongside our main project team you will join our specialist group involved in electrical engineering work for the energy sector specialising in electrical transmission and distribution. Our clients are in the UK and internationally and you will be a hands-on consultant dealing directly with clients at all levels. The role will involve working on the examination and assessment of technical, economic, and commercial aspects of various types of energy networks projects. Responsibilities Will Include Provide technical electrical engineering inputs on a range of feasibility, concept, techno-commercial study projects for offshore substations Manage the technical interfaces for the offshore substations Undertake reviews of electrical assets, businesses, and operating processes Review the commercial and risk elements of projects from an engineering perspective Preparation of technical reports.
